Dana Whipple
Mrs. Whipple is the Dean of Students as of June 1, 2009. Mrs. Whipple was previously the Acting Director at MSR for the 2008-2009 school year. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in education/sociology from St. John Fisher College, and is pursuing her Masters degree in school administration. Prior to joining MSR, Mrs. Whipple taught for four years as the lead teacher at a Language Immersion Charter School in Florida and was also the Assistant School Leader in her final year. She holds a Professional Teaching certificate from Florida, grades K-6, and an Initial New York State certification in early childhood. Mrs. Whipple is also working as the secretary for GRAPS (Greater Rochester Association of Private Schools).

Becky Mitchell, Directress
Becky is in her fifth year at the Montessori School of Rochester and in June of 2007 was promoted to Toddler Community Directress. Becky completed over 50 hours of training designed and delivered by an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) certified toddler directress appointed by the North American Montessori Teachers Association (NAMTA). Mrs. Mitchell has a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science and is also a licensed massage therapist. Prior to arriving at MSR, she worked as a one-on-one teaching assistant in special education classrooms, and also as a research and program assistant (working with 4, 5 and 6 year-olds) at the Mt. Hope Family Center in Rochester, NY.
Ranu Ghosh, Assistant
Ranu Ghosh is an assistant in our Toddler Community. This will be her second year here at MSR. Mrs. Ghosh holds a Bachelors degree in History. Before joining our staff, she spent 10 years working as a Child Care Center Aide for the town of Pittsford Recreation Department.
Stephanie Amara, Directress
Stephanie joins MSR this year as a Directress in our Children's House Program. She is currently in the process of completing her Primary AMI training through the training center in Dallas, Texas. Stephanie has previous Montessori teaching experience at Syracuse Montessori and Webster Montessori. In addition to earnng her Primary certification, she also holds an Assistants to Infancy diploma from the Opera Nazionale Montessori in Rome, Italy. She holds two Bachelor degrees and is also fluent in Italian. We are very excited to have her join our staff this school year.
Sara Walrath, Assistant
Sara joins MSR this year as an Assistant in our Children's House Program. Sara received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from SUNY Geneseo and a Masters of Science degree in Literacy from St. John Fisher College. She holds an Initial Certification in Literacy Education (birth - grade 6). Mrs. Walrath has previously worked as an Elementary Academic Coach as well as a substitute teacher for the Webster Central School District.
Jennifer Mulvaney, Directress
Jennifer is in her seventh year at the Montessori School of Rochester and is a Children’s House Directress. Jennifer completed her diploma certification process at the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Training Center in Wisconsin this summer. Ms. Mulvaney has a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and philosophy from St. John Fisher College, and an Associates degree in graphic arts from Monroe Community College. During her time with MSR, Jennifer was a classroom assistant and also directed our afternoon Day House Program. Prior to joining MSR, Ms. Mulvaney worked for two years as a Para-therapist for children with autism.
Jennifer Drake, Assistant
Jennifer is in her second year here at MSR and will be Ms. Mulvaney's classroom assistant. Mrs. Drake has over 10 years of experience of being a childcare provider in her home. Mrs. Drake ran her daycare to be able to stay home and raise her three young sons. In her spare time, Mrs. Drake volunteers for her children's elementary school and for the Rotary camps for the LPGA. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, hiking, white water rafting and traveling.
Stephanie Mulvaney, Assistant
Stephanie is in her 3rd year here at MSR and will be an assistant in our Children's House this year. Stephanie has completed 2 years at St. John Fisher College with a major in English Literature. Stephanie has previously been an assistant in our Toddler Community and will also continue on as an assitant in our Toddler Day House.
Deanna Rodriguez, Directress
Deanna is in her eleventh year at The Montessori School of Rochester. She was promoted to the Head of Pedagogy in May 2007. Prior to her appointment as Head of Pedagogy, Ms. Rodriguez was a directress in the Children’s House program. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Tufts University, and received her AMI certification from the Washington Montessori Institute, in Washington D.C. At family nights and information sessions, Ms. Rodriguez speaks with eloquence and a gentle humor of the Montessori curriculum, activities and the joy in learning that results from our program.
Theresa Nobilski, Assistant
Theresa joined our staff in August 2009 and will the classroom assistant with Ms. Rodriguez. Ms. Nobilski has a duel major from St. John Fisher College in Business Marketing and English. She has several years experience working in a childcare setting. In her spare time she enjoys painting, cooking, playing sports and doing crafts. This year she will be serving on the March of Dimes Communication Committee. Ms. Nobilski is also an afternoon assistant in our Day House.
Angela Caprarotta
Angela is in her sixth year at MSR and has completed her AMI certification in the elementary program and her Masters in Education, to begin at MSR for the 2008-2009 school year. Ms. Caprarotta has a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Penn State University, and spent two years substitute teaching in Pennsylvania before moving to Rochester. Her hobbies include knitting, camping and yoga. Among her many other accomplishments, she once rode her bicycle across the United States.
Sara Walrath: Morning Day House
Andrea Molino: Afternoon Day House/ Physical Education Teacher
Andrea joined our staff in August 2009 and will be an assistant in our Day House program as well as our Elementary Physical Education teacher. Ms. Molino holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from SUNY Brockport and is currently persuing her Masters in Health Education from TUI University. She has spent the past 2 years substitue teaching and has also previously taught preschool at Doodle Bugs Childrens Center.
Mary Whitney, Assistant
Mary has more than eleven years of experience with the Montessori School of Rochester, and worked first at the Irondequoit location. She has two new grandsons and enjoys spoiling them as well as traveling, gardening, cooking and reading. After all of these years, the children continue to also be one of her passions.
